The school week was fairly uneventful just a lot of trying to get aclimated still. I went running before class one morning and I decided to take off in a different direction than we normally travel to school and ended up lost for a little while. Eventually, I found my way back after getting the chance to practice Italian when trying to communicate with people to find out where to go. Grocercy shopping seemed extremely challenging this week because I was trying to cook actual meals and had no idea where to find the ingredients I needed or what they were called but none the less an experience to be learned from. For the weekend everyone stayed in Rome. Bree and Linsay had some friends come from Verona for the weekend so I went out and did touristy things with them. We went to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps. When we were by the Trevi Fountain we stopped to get gelato at San Crispino because it is suppose to be amazing and it was! After we went to the Spanish Steps I decided to separate from the group and get some shopping done before all the sales were over. I wondered around for a while checking out shops and then I got lost… again no suprise there, but it was cool because I ended up finding Villa Borghese. I got directions back to the Spanish Steps and continued shopping. Just when I thought I was going to end up empty handed from my shopping trip I decided to go in a store I was passing on the way to the tram. I hit the jackpot!!!! The store was called Omai and the lady there was super helpful and helped me pick out 6 awesome sweaters that can go with a wide variety of tops. At night a big group of us went out to dinner by Campo di Fiori. The food was great but our group got sushed several times throughout the course of our meal. Then we caught taxi’s and headed to a club called Babel. On Sunday, I went to see the Pope speak with Bree, Lindsay, and their friends. It was really awesome and we hear him give a blessing in at least 5 different languages. When he released the dove it flew back into his room and he had to go grab it and rerelease it. Afterwards we grabbed some panini’s. Then we headed to a pub called Abby Theatre to have a few drinks before we went to the A.S. Roma game. At the pub we decided to take shots of absinthe. We took 2 each, one regualar and the second one we headed up to the bar and did one that was on fire. Then we headed to termine and caught the bus to the game. A.S. Roma won. It was awesome. The people in our section were cheering the whole time. It was way crazier than a soccer game in America. Whenever a goal was scored everyone rushed forward and some of the boys got picked up and thrown down the stairs and a lot of people got pushed off the chairs they were standing on and some fell over. It was tons of fun though I definetly want to go to another one before I leave.
